Over the last few days, as you had surely noticed, a lot of filehosters went down, and the wave of closure is not yet over, as MF is called to testify in the next three months and will probably go the same route as the others. As a blogger, publishing mostly deleted albums, i never had the impression to fall in the dreadful "piiiiiiiiiiiiraaaaaaaaaaate" category. Nor did i believe i was on the verge to be responsible of the collapse of civilization. As a music fan, i just wanted to share my love of mutant music with you. Seems that simple thing is now impossible. Over the last two weeks, i uploaded more than 100 records to post here, and now they're lost in the ether. I don't have the time, nor the urge to play cat and mouse with these administrations, so for the time being, i have to suspend the activities of the blog. I'll miss it and I'll miss all of you, but i'd rather spend my time listening to my collection of records than to fight the-almighty-big-brother-police... There will be other fights, other adventures, other ways...

A great record from Chicago artist Rob Patterson which composes here the soundtrack from an (hopefully) upcoming book. Here, he manipulates a vast array of instruments, from guitars to oboe, field recordings to singing bowls, and creates an haunting soundscape. What else to say ? According to Rob, "Musical influences in this project include Eluvium, Fjordne, Popol Vuh, Xela, and Steven R. Smith. I would place the genre somewhere around ambient, experimental and noise". So, enjoy it here, and if all works out, there will be some vinyl pressings in the future. Anyways, thanks a lot to Infinite Meniscus, and congrats on being the first artist on NNN Presents...

Hi folks,

As you may have noticed if you're a regular here, I like this blog to be an experimental platform and not only a collection of links. Some experiments proved valid (like the merging of pure noise and other forms or the FB page), some went down (like the forum). The other day, as i was deleting the shoutbox which was heavily spammed during my forced absence, i thought it was a shame to lose the many links you posted on your own creations. So from there came the idea of NNN Present, a new series of posts about... you ! If you're a musician, working in the genres featured on the blog (noise, drone, experimental, idm, field recordings, found sounds, collage, ambient...), just send me a link to your (unreleased) album or EP with a short presentation of the project - where you came from, what you want to express... - i'll listen to everything, i promise, and will post here the best ones under the collective name of New Noise Net Presents. Like a netlabel without the label if you want. So, i'm waiting for your input at chnnlzr [at] gmail.com .
PS : For the time being, please don't send me single tracks, unless there long enough to be a release on their own. I'll probably make a call for shorter tracks to be released as a compilation in the near future.
PPS : If you also have records released and want to share them here, it's ok of course, i'll be glad to add them to the bulk of NNN. Just send me a link to it, with the title, the year and the label name (and a picture if possible), and voilà.
